Youin Dakar, alias the beast

Something that we cannot deny about the Youin You-Ride Dakar, is that the manufacturer has imbued it with a premium sports design that exudes quality and style. With that said, the bike sports an arch-shaped aluminum frame and a compact size, but that doesn’t make it light, as it actually weighs its own (34KG to be exact). Speaking of weight, the structure can bear a maximum load of 130KG.

Youin You-Ride Dakar - Design

As can be seen in the images, this e-bike has details that make it suitable to accompany you not only on your rides through the city, but also through the countryside and the mountains; not in vain it consists of a damping system and a sport type saddle with gel, not to mention the rear luggage rack and the fenders on each wheel. Speaking of wheels, it is equipped with 20 x 4.0-inch FAT tires from the well-known CST brand.

However, the icing on the cake is the folding factor. That’s right, the Youin You-Ride Dakar can be folded into 3 parts (handlebar, frame and pedals) to take up less space and be stored more easily or perhaps carried on public transport, but as we warned before, it is a fairly heavy model.

In another order of ideas, we cannot ignore the inclusion of a LCD display with speedometer which also serves to indicate the remaining battery, the selected mode and the distance traveled.

With that said, driving at night won’t be a problem thanks to the presence of front LED headlights and rear brake light.

Before changing the subject, it is worth mentioning that this Fat Bike is presented in two color options: red with black and gray with black, mixtures that are consistent with the sporty aesthetic.

Engine and features

As with all of this company’s bikes, the Youin You-Ride Dakar complies with European legislation for this class of vehicle, so we can’t exactly expect something very powerful or fast, but competent. With that said, this bike is equipped with a 250W motor that obviously reaches a top speed of 25KM/has stipulated by law.

Youin You-Ride Dakar - Features

Of course, speed is not everything and there are other equally important factors to consider in an off-road e-bike, including bump damping. To this end, the Youin You-Ride Dakar has not only a lockable suspension front forkbut also adds to its bet a rear air shock absorber that considerably improves impact mitigation and, therefore, makes the driving experience smoother and more comfortable for the user.

Youin You-Ride Dakar - Engine

To stop safely, the YOUIN DAKAR has mechanical disc brakes on each wheel, and it’s a shame they’re not hydraulic considering the price we’re paying with this e-bike. For his part, the transmission system is the work of the manufacturer Shimanowhich has provided a 7-speed gearbox.

Autonomy

Before concluding, it should be noted that the Youin You-Ride Dakar is powered by a 36 V / 10 Ah battery which sincerely falls short in this price range, since it only promises a autonomy of 35 or 45 kilometers in the best case. Additionally, there are 5 levels of pedal assistance to extend that range a bit, but don’t expect a miracle.

Youin You-Ride Dakar - Autonomy

With that in mind, the battery it takes about 4-6 hours to recharge to 100%, which is considerable for the little range that it already offers. The charging method is via USB cable and comes with the advantage of being removable, which makes life easier when it comes to recharging it, since it eliminates the need to bring the bike closer to a power outlet.
