VerificaCOVID, the App to certify vaccination in Catalonia

Concerns on the European territory for the rise in cases of infected by Covid-19 it is leading local authorities to think of ways to maintain greater control over society in the early winter and vaccination certificates is one of the most chosen routes. The last to join is the App Check COVID.

Basically VerificaCOVID is the App designated by the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) to be featured in establishments such as bars, restaurants and gyms to be accepted to stay there. The designation began to take effect from last Friday, November 26, throughout the autonomous community.

How to use the VerificaCOVID App

It is worth noting that the application can be downloaded and installed on any phone with Android and iOS operating system through the website of the Generalitat de Catalunya and its use has no cost. Once the COVID vaccination certificate is presented (whether it is in physical format or in PDF on the mobile) this is analyzed by said App (the camera scans the QR code) and a green or red signal will be emitted according to the rules (yes, it is a much simpler process than tattooing a QR certificate).

With the VerificaCOVID app can verify COVID passports issued by countries that are part of both the European Union such as those obtained in the UK. In addition, support is included for different languages such as Spanish, Catalan, English, French, German and Italian.

Likewise, the notion of this creation is not something new, since it was already in use for those people who had to travel by plane or rounds in nightlife circles, specifically at the time of nightlife. access discos, music festivals and other private celebrations such as weddings and banquets.

This measure taken by the TSJC is contrary to what happened days ago with the Superior Court of the Basque Country by refusing for the moment to implement covid passports in the autonomous community. What’s more, other regions of Spain such as the Autonomous Communities of Navarra, Aragon and La Rioja They also seek to implement measures of this type but have not yet received a response from the respective courts.
