The changes that Huawei Mate 40 Pro introduces to be more sustainable

Technology, social responsibility and technology are three concepts that are increasingly linked. Apple has made rivers of ink flow with its decision to eliminate certain accessories in order to make its packaging thinner and, among other benefits, to reduce the environmental footprint caused by its logistics. But he’s not the only one. Other manufacturers have managed to find a middle way to launch “ecological” smartphones without the user giving up their accessories. It is the case of Huawei Mate 40 Pro, in which the development of its packaging has been taken care of to be the most sustainable of the company to date.

What is special about the packaging of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro?

Huawei, with its sustainability commitment, has expressed its intention to carry out the necessary measures to face the environmental problems that we live in the current stage. One of these actions is the development of the packaging of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro, the latest flagship of the company that has some very special features.

First of all highlights plastic disposal of its packaging, which although it does not reach 100%, less than 4% of the materials used are plastics. On the other hand, it has also been used 100% recyclable soy ink instead of the usual petroleum ink, a carcinogenic and environmentally highly polluting agent. As well paper use has been reduced by 90%.

The Mate 40 Pro is Huawei's greenest terminal to date

All this may seem insignificant if we take as a reference a single unit that reaches the hands of the end user. But, looking in general terms, for every ten million units produced, more than 12,000 tons of carbon emissions and more than 18,000 kilos of plastics are reduced, among others.

It is everyone’s responsibility to fight against the environmental problems of the stage that we have lived through and we must not forget that in the small gestures is the great change.
