Teclast T50, a solid everyday tablet with a 2K screen

Smart tablets are still fighting and the big companies are not the only ones that dare to continue competing in this sector, and what better proof of this than the Teclast T50, a new tablet based on Android 12 that offers a solid mid-range experience. For those interested, this model stands out for its aluminum unibody body and 2K cinematic screen, to which we must add that it has good performance, thanks to an eight-core chip combined with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. On top of all that, it has 4G Dual SIM support, so we can use it as a mobile.

On the other hand, if instead of a tablet you prefer a notebook, we can also help with that by recommending to the Teclast F15 Plus 2.

Design and display

We really like how the Teclast T50 looks, it has a CNC aluminum chassis with a slim figure (7.5mm thick) and light (510 grams), making a good first impression when looking at it. Its surface has a gray finish extremely minimalist, there is nothing in sight on the back, with the exception of the logo of the brand.

Teclast T50

That said, it’s a 11 Inch Tablet, so it’s obviously big. To be precise, it measures 237.5 x 142.5 x 7.5mm.

The power and volume buttons are on the right edge, while the SIM/TF card slot is on the top of the body.

Design

As we already mentioned, the screen has a 11-inch diagonal and displays a 2K resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels, so its sharpness is above average. It should also be noted that it is fully laminated, has very thin bevels at all ends and reaches a 350 nit brightness, that’s not to mention 120Hz touch sampling. Additionally, the manufacturer promises accurate color reproduction thanks to its T-Color 2.0 optimization algorithm.

Screen

Without a doubt it will be a pleasant experience to watch series, movies or play video games on a screen like this, especially if we take into account the 4 stereo speakers with digital amplification and the two noise canceling microphones. So it’s easy to recommend this tablet to those looking for a mid-range option for consuming media.

Hardware and features

The Teclast T50 is powered by a respectable 2.0Ghz octa-core Unisoc T616 chip with Mali-G57 GPU and 8GB of memory RAM. It also consists of 128GB of internal storage and that is the only existing configuration of the tablet. If we wish, we can expand the storage using the TF card slot up to a maximum of 1TB, but that means sacrificing a slot that could potentially accommodate a Micro-SIM, although that’s okay, as a Nano-SIM slot remains free as well. .

With all that being said, the performance this tablet offers is entirely respectable in its price range. It has enough memory to have as many applications open as you need and its processor has the necessary power to make the experience smooth. Similarly, it can handle mobile games with acceptable results, but only that; To put this in context, games like PUBG: Mobile and Call of Duty: Mobile can run at over 50FPS with graphics on medium, but demanding titles like Genshin Impact don’t quite hit a stable 30FPS.

Teclast T50 - Features

In another order of ideas, the tablet works with Android 12 Stockwhich at the time of publication of this note is one version behind the current one, but that’s okay, since it is the norm with tablets.

Feeding this tablet we will find a 7,500mAh batterywhich easily exceeds the day long with normal use. However, the supposed fast charge is not as fast as the manufacturer advertises it, as a quick look at its spec sheet reveals that it is only 18 watts, so it will take a long time to recharge a battery with this capacity.

cameras

Cameras are never the strong point of tablets, and the Teclast T50 is no exception to the rule, but it does make a respectable effort by including a 20MP Sony brand rear sensor. Meanwhile, on the front it has an 8MP sensor that supports color compensation. We can’t say that it offers memorable photo quality, but for quick photos and video calls it will do.

connectivity

When it comes to physical interfaces, there isn’t much to talk about. The tablet consists of USB-C port and that’s it, although there is also the SIM/T card slotF. It’s a bit disappointing to say that it lacks a headphone port, but it can be remedied with a USB-C adapter or via Bluetooth.

Teclast T50 - Connectivity

With that said, the Teclast T50 can boast its 4G LTE connectivity, so we can send/receive messages, make VoLTE calls and surf the internet using data. On top of that it consists of GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO and A-GPS for satellite navigation. Lastly, it has Dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0.
