This is the TECLAST F15 Plus 2
The presentation of this device is pristine, especially when considering the range to which it belongs, the dark gray finish gives a sophisticated tone to this notebook. In this sense, it consists of a slim and lightweight aluminum alloy body (1.65KG) that allows you to easily slip it into your bag and take it to the office or university. Therefore, it is a product that exceeds in appearance and portability.
One detail we can’t ignore is the full-size keyboard with generous key spacing, so typing on it will be a pleasure, even if it’s not mechanical. The only negative is that it is not a native Spanish keyboard, therefore, we will not get the letter Ñ and the symbols will not match completely, but this can be corrected with the included stickers. For its part, the trackpad is also correctly positioned and has a wide area of use.
As you can see in the images, under the grid there is a pair of front speakers that provide considerably good stereo sound for the budget we are dealing with.
Finally, the ports and interfaces are located on the sides of the device, but we will explore them later.
For its part, the screen is a 15.6-inch IPS panel offering a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixelsAs well as generous viewing angles and even more interesting: virtually non-existent bezels. In this vein, the sides are as thin as 7mm, while the front bezel can barely house the 2MP webcam and nothing else. An immersive visual experience is what awaits users who decide to opt for the TECLAST F15 Plus 2.
Hardware and Features
We come to the most important point of any computer: the hardware specifications. In this case we are looking at a humble but respectable processor Intel Celeron N4120 quad-core 2.6Ghz, which is paired with integrated UHD 600 graphics from the same manufacturer.
On the side of memory we find 8GB of LDDR4 RAM in dual channel for multitasking activities, while to store our files we will have 256GB provided by a fast M.2 NVMe SSD.
We’ve seen this combination of hardware a thousand times and know that the performance it provides, without being anything but remarkable, is adequate for day-to-day tasks, office software, and entertainment.
The CPU exhibits low power consumption and hardly heats up, while the GPU does quite well in 4K video decoding and can even move low-requirement games like League of Legends fluently. The amount of RAM installed is the minimum that we would expect from a computer in 2021 and the only thing to criticize is the internal storage, but not precisely because of its reduced capacity -which compensates with the typical speed of SSDs- but because of the fact that it does not there is an additional M.2 slot. Therefore, we will have to replace the complete unit or resort to Micro SD cards if we want more space.
In terms of OS, it obviously awaits us 64-bit Windows 10 Home, but nothing stops us from upgrading to Windows 11 in the future.
To finish this section, we can limit that the set is fed by a 38Wh battery that promises only 5 hours of duration on average; a fairly realistic and honest estimate, which breaks a bit with the dynamics that manufacturers have of inflating this number for marketing purposes.
If we talk about the wireless front, we will find the usual options that change little depending on the range. This translates into Dual band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. Meanwhile, the physical interfaces are as follows:
- USB 3.0 port
- 3.5mm audio jack
- Mini-HDMI video output
- USB Type-C port
- USB 2.0 port
- Micro SD card reader
