Stacer, optimizing GNU / Linux Ubuntu and derivatives

Far from what we would like, we know that GNU / Linux and its innumerable distros do not enjoy the popularity that other more widespread operating systems do. Unfortunately, when we talk about GNU / Linux, people tend to think that it is a difficult system to handle, where complicated commands are used … and an endless number of prejudices that have been penetrating the user. With Stacer we kill two birds with one stone: on the one hand we teach you a method to keep our favorite distro optimized and on the other we show how easy it is.

Stacer, simple way to keep GNU / Linux clean

Stacer introduces himself to the world in his Github website as a Ubuntu system optimizer. Nothing is further from reality, Stacer also works on a wide variety of distributions such as Debian itself, Mint or Elementary (where we have specifically tested it); in all of them, its function is to keep the system clean and optimized in a simple and accessible way for everyone. No commands or weird things, don’t worry.

Installation and use

Its installation method is as simple as downloading the .Deb package available for both 32 and 64 bits. Once we have it on our computer, it will be enough to install it without much effort using, for example, as we have done, Gdebi, a very easy-to-use .Deb package manager.

Ready, you will have it installed.

Now it remains to open it and navigate its interface. There we will find, separated by tabs, your options:

Dashboard, where to take a quick look at the system in general; System Cleaner, to clean unnecessary files; Startup Apps, with startup apps; Services, where we can disable services that we do not use; and finally, Uninstaller, the section where we can uninstall programs with just one mouse click.

This is all; Stacer is a program that everyone should install on their distro. On the other hand, we encourage you to give Linux a try; do not settle for what they tell you, try and, above all, be free.
