Before the year 2022 came to an end, Xiaomi presented a huge wave of mobile devices and wearables, where obviously we can highlight the series redmi K60 and the Redmi Note 12 Pro. However, at the time we failed to mention that the company also launched a proposal for the low-end, and today we are here to give your well-deserved attention to that device, which is the Redmi 12C.
This mobile is built based on a 6.71-inch LCD screen with HD + resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels, brightness of 500 nits and refresh rate of 60Hz. In terms of design, it looks like any other low-end Xiaomi phone from recent years, although with the novelty that its back cover sports a striped design.
Redmi 12C, affordable but highly competitive
The Xiaomi Redmi 12C is one of those terminals that pushes the limits of what the low-end can offer, as demonstrated by its powerful helio G85 chip from MediaTekwhich in turn is accompanied by the following amounts of memory and internal storage:
- 4GB/64GB
- 4GB/128GB
- 6GB/128GB
With that in mind, the terminal is powered by a 5,000mAh batterywhich is charged via micro-USB and at a power of 10W, so it definitely does not support fast charging.
The photographic section is interesting for what this terminal costs. Going into details, it has a 5MP front camera and a dual rear camera with the following sensors:
- Main: 50 Mpx f / 1.8
- Depth sensor: 2 Mpx f/2.4
In another order of ideas, the mobile works with MIUI 13but we won’t get all the benefits of the UI, since it’s based on Android 12.
Finally, the device consists of Dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 5.1is compatible with up to 4G (Dual SIM) and has a fingerprint reader on the back.
Availability and price
At the moment, the Redmi 12C is only available in China in 4 color presentations (black, blue, green and purple). starting at 699 yuan in its 4GB/64GB version, which in exchange would be 95 euros. Naturally, we will have to wait for an announcement from Xiaomi before we can offer more information about its availability in Europe and other markets.
