Realme GT Master Edition, análisis de este gran rival de gama media
We have already been able to test the new realme GT Master Edition. A very complete mid-range smartphone with great features. It is equipped with the competent Snapdragon 778G to show off high-quality games on its 120 Hz AMOLED screen . In addition, it has a 65W fast charge to have the battery recharged in 35 minutes. And the photographic section is not far behind with its triple camera and 4K video configuration. We review the rest of the features in our review and do not miss the video that we have prepared of the new realme smartphone .
Unboxing: with case and charger
This realme GT Master Edition comes to us in a careful packing in black. The box includes the usual warranty documentation and the phone on the first level. When we remove this cover, we discover a silicone case with a good touch, in our case, in gray. The power adapter implements the 65W SuperDart fast charging system , USB-C cable and extraction needle. As we can see, it does not include a headphone adapter and it does not need them, since it has a headphone jack .

Design: elegant and comfortable to use
Attractive and elegant, this is the design of the realme GT Master Edition with a dazzling rear end. Its glass finish resembles a mirror and is available in various colors. In our case, the Cosmos Black, offers a very interesting color with light reflections. There is another edition made with vegan leather and under the supervision of designer Naoto Fukasawa , which is reminiscent of the exterior of a suitcase, called Explorer Edition. Going back to our model, the phone with the glass finish feels somewhat slippery and is a clear fingerprint magnet. Luckily, it includes a silicone sleeve.
It has dimensions of 159.2 x 73.5 x 8 mm and a weight of 174 g. On the other hand, the contours are curved, soft to the touch and with an aluminum chassis. The camera module sticks out of the phone but without being a nuisance. Although it wobbles slightly if it is supported on a surface, with the cover it is corrected. The buttons are located in an accessible position and the fingerprint reader, under the screen, is located at the bottom. The front shows a good performance with minimal bezels.
Display: Super AMOLED + 120 Hz + 1,000 nits
Also attractive is its 6.43- inch Super AMOLED screen from Samsung. Thanks to the FHD + resolution, the image display and reading is detailed with a high level of sharpness. Additionally, the 120Hz refresh rate favors smooth animations and smooth scrolling, but gamers will notice that too. From the settings menu we can select 60 Hz, 120 Hz or automatic selection depending on the app we use. And it is not the only thing that they will appreciate, since the tactile sampling has a frequency of 360 Hz, a real joy and with an effective recognition of our pulsation.
Continuing with the characteristics of the screen, two other highlights are its 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut and a maximum brightness level of 1,000 nits. That is, the colors are as faithful as possible for the best viewing experience. And on the other hand, its level of brightness is appreciated on the outside. For all this, the realme GT Master Edition has support for HDR10 and HLG content, where we can express it on Netflix in HD thanks to the Widevine L1.
But what does all this translate into? Playing video games or reading our timeline in a park is possible with its brightness level. Colors are vivid and deep blacks provide just the right contrast. He takes advantage of around 92% of the front of the phone, with slim bezels and the small hole for the camera in the upper left corner. Under this screen hides the fingerprint scanner with a good recognition of the same.
Performance: suitable for gamers
They already promised us that the realme GT Master Edition would meet the expectations of gamers and they weren’t lying. It is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor , developed in 6 nm for better efficiency and the direct continuation of the Snapdragon 768G. This SoC provides a maximum clock speed of 2.4 GHz, placing it in the upper-middle range. In fact, it adopts some of the features of the powerful Snapdragon 888. Although it maintains some characteristics of its predecessor, the realme GT that we already analyzed, there are many differences to consider.
The graphics muscle is given by the Adreno 642L GPU, capable of high definition graphics, HDR and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It is accompanied by 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and the possibility of up to 5 GB of virtual RAM. That is, it uses internal storage to expand the RAM, although its performance is lower. All of this is combined with the 12TOPS AI engine to manage device resources and optimize results.
And as we have been saying, gamers will find in the realme GT Master Edition a very competitive smartphone. In addition to the graphics, cooling is also important. For this reason, the device equips a refrigeration system with the use of a steam chamber. Efficiently dissipates the heat of the different internal components without having to limit their performance due to high temperatures. On the other hand, it includes a high-performance mode and a vibration touch motor for a much more intense gaming experience.
Operating system and user experience
This realme GT Master Edition runs under Realme UI 2.0, its own customization layer based on Android 11. As can be seen in the images, it includes some third-party app but that can be removed (social networks, Netflix and PUBG). This layer is quite fluid and incorporates some cool tools like Gamespace. An app to manage performance with the selection of different modes, notifications blocking, resolution adjustment, among others.
Already in the day to day, the realme leaves us satisfied moving from one app to another, quickly loading the data from its UFS 2.2 memory and a successful response in games. It feels agile at all times, without waiting, and keeps a good number of background apps open. Now, in the middle of August, the cooling of its steam chamber becomes patent. However, that does not mean that it is always cold, but it does not reach the temperatures of other phones in these hot months.
Cameras: we return to 64 + 8 + 2 MP
Thanks to its triple camera configuration, the possibilities multiply. It is equipped with a 64 MP (f / 1.8) main sensor, 8 MP and 119º ultra wide angle (f / 2.2) and a 2 MP (f / 2.4) macro camera. As we always say, the evaluation of a photograph or video always depends on the criteria of each person. In our case, we appreciate a good result at a general level, with unforced colors and a correct balance in HDR photographs.
Also, your camera software shows us different settings. First, it is assisted by AI to optimize results. However, sometimes it ends up spoiling the capture by saturating the colors. The urban photography mode has several artistic filters to enhance our captures, fix focus, RAW capture and more.
On the other hand, the selfie camera incorporates a 32 MP and f / 2.5 Sony sensor. The features tab summarizes the main photography features and functions, such as 64 MP mode. Regarding video recording, it is compatible with 4K recording at 60 fps for the rear and FHD at 30 fps for the front. It includes a professional recording mode and dual video, making use of the rear and front camera at the same time.
Connectivity, sound and battery
The new representative of realme carries 5G connectivity by flag, thinking about the great possibilities of online gaming, streaming and services with AI. We continue with WiFi Dual Band / WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC chip and headphone jack. The maximum storage is 256 GB and it cannot be expanded since its card tray does not support a microSD.
On the other hand there is the sound section. Loud applause for continuing to go for a headphone jack, but also a slap on the wrist at the lack of sound from two speakers. Its super-linear speaker and high-resolution audio certification blurs does not come to shine by not presenting the aforementioned configuration. However, the speaker sounds powerful even outdoors.
Regarding the battery, it incorporates a 4,300 mAh unit along with the aforementioned 65W charger. A capacity that adapts well to the specifications of the realme GT Master Edition but without too much fanfare. In fact, in our tests we have managed to reach 5 hours of screen without reaching a second day. As always, it will depend a lot on how we use the phone. In the corresponding configuration section we have two energy saving modes. Fortunately, the fast charger solves this problem with a full charge in about 35 minutes.
Availability and price of the realme GT Master Edition
The realme GT Master Edition is now available via Aliexpress. The price of the 6 GB / 128 GB version is 349 euros and 399 euros for the 8GB / 256GB version, which we have analyzed. In addition, you can take it cheaper until August 27. Since the 6 GB version will be available for 299 euros and 379 euros for the 8 GB. In addition, the first 3,000 units have a discount of an additional 43 euros. You no longer have excuses to brand new smartphone at the best possible price.
In conclusion, the realme GT Master Edition offers everything you can expect from a mid-range phone. You can see the great care that the brand has given it in the conception of the product, with a well-resolved technical sheet and a photographic section that borders on remarkable. Fast charging is a real treat although it lacks wireless. There is also no trace of IP protection against water. We award the Gizlogic Gold Award.
