This week, OnePlus mobile users can begin to test some of the novelties developed by the manufacturer for their own customization layer based on Android 12. Called as OxygenOS 12, currently available in open beta for everyone with a phone OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro.

From a user interface change and a wide variety of new functions that are mainly based on three aspects: work, rest and games, OxygenOS 12 seeks to obtain a more complete experience that streamlines the daily work of users and improves digital well-being. Here we review some of its most important news:

What’s new in OxygenOS 12?

OxygenOS 12 seeks a simpler and more enjoyable aesthetic

Firstly some aesthetic differences will be found in the main menu when compared to previous versions, as it seeks to better complement light and space, indicating clearer distances, softer light and shadows that minimize distractions and interspersed relationships that improve readability and ease of use. Now it is possible to choose between the “Zen” mode and the “Private Safe” mode.

In addition, Main menu customization includes feature cards of different sizes and background images, facilitating grouping different functions and personalizing the design to suit each user. For example, the step counter is updated to a health card, including synchronization with the OnePlus Watch for direct access to relevant information such as calories burned or heart rate level.

OxygenOS 12 makes it easy to limit the times of the day between work and play

For users who have trouble combining their personal and work life, the platform “Work Life Balance 2.0” (WLB 2.0) is updated with new ways to maintain a better balance of communications during the daily workday, allowing sort notifications and messages from different apps by priority or switch between work and life modes automatically based on location, Wi-Fi networks, or a specific set time.

If gaming is your concern, OxygenOS 12 brings excellent features along with Toolbox 2.0, now including “Voice Modulator” technology in five of the most popular games on the market (PUBG / CODM / LOLM / FreeFire / Fortnite), thus making it easy to change the voice during in-game chats, protecting the privacy of users.

Finally, there is no shortage of news regarding information security features, further improving the already existing data storage access and protection mechanism, being able to classify and store files in the private safe and isolate them from access from other external applications.

The beta phase of OxigenOS12 is available for OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro but will soon be expanded to other previous models (OnePlus 8, OnePlus 9R 5G, OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7T Pro, Nord 2 5G, Nord 1, Nord CE 5G).
