OnePlus has once again done what it does best, producing excellent value for money terminals that rival high-end flagships, albeit for a lower price. And this is how the OnePlus Nord, a mid-range terminal with Premium features (and the first of the company for this range), such as 5G, quad camera and a large screen.

As if that were not enough, its launch has been made through an Augmented Reality event, which adds a pinch of magic to the situation.

Time to meet the OnePlus Nord

The similarities with the OnePlus 8 are undeniable, especially in terms of aesthetics and the camera, but this is not a terminal that seeks to stand out for its innovation and originality, but for what it has to offer and the price tag. Going into details, the terminal preserves the modern design of the company’s devices, with a glass back cover where 4 vertically aligned cameras rest and the brand’s logo in the center.

The screen consists of a 6.44-inch AMOLED panel with FullHD + resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels (408ppp) covering sRGB and Display P3 color spaces. The terminal also adds to the fever of the 90Hz and exhibits a 180Hz touch sample rate for fluency.

As always, the front is covered with Gorilla Glass 5 and also doubles as a fingerprint reader. It highlights the presence of a double perforation to house a pair of selfie cameras.

Hardware and Features

Inside the OnePlus Nord lies a Snapdragon 765G chip that provides 5G connectivity to the terminal, as well as luxurious performance. Additionally we will get 6GB, 8GB or 12GB of RAM that accompany the processor. To the above, we must add internal storage options ranging from 64GB to 256GB.

The battery that powers the device also deserves a mention, since it is a unit of 4,115mAh with 30W Warp 30T fast charge, which promises to recover 70% of capacity in just half an hour.

In terms of the operating system, we have Android 10 alongside the company’s popular interface, OxygenOS. And in the connectivity department we will find everything that can be expected from a high-end terminal in 2020, including NFC and 5G.

The OnePlus Nord’s photographic arrangement uses the same main sensor as the OnePlus 8, that is, a 48MP Sony IMX586 with f / 1.75 aperture, optical image stabilization and the ability to take 12MP resolution captures. Accompanying this sensor we have a 8MP wide angle lens with 119 degree field of view, a 2MP macro camera and a 5MP depth sensor. The set can shoot video at 4K @ 30FPS and benefits from hybrid image stabilization and slow motion recording (1080p at 240FPS).

For its part, selfie cameras are made up of a sensor 32MP Sony IMX616 (f / 2.45) and an 8MP wide-angle lens (105 ° field of view). Again, it is possible to shoot in 4K with this set.
