Nilox X6, an eBike suitable for almost any situation

Nilox X6 National Geographic or simply Nilox X6, it is a practical electric bicycle to move both for the city and in rural areas, which is characterized by its premium construction, medium size with 27.5 ”wheels and 250W motor. This eBike reaches a top speed of 25KM and in theory it can give us tours of up to 80KM thanks to its removable Samsung brand battery. As if that were not enough, it has a Shimano 21-speed gearbox and Tektro disc brakes.

Before analyzing it completely, it should be noted that it is a high-end option, whose price is justifiably above the 1,000 euro mark (but it is worth it), so if you are looking for a more affordable option to give you a more casual use, maybe we can recommend you to the Nilox EBike X2, which is emerging as an acceptable proposal to take short walks around the city.

What can we say about its design?

Well, we can start by saying that it sports a sporty design and that it is built from a light and resistant aluminum alloy. It is characterized by having 27.5 ” 2.1 ” thick wheels, which are from the Kenda brand. The front fork is equipped with suspension and the handlebar has a revoshift control to change gears without having to take your hands off the knob, so we already get a good idea of the level of quality that the Nilox X6 delivers.

Nilox X6 - Design

The Nilox X6 has dimensions dimensions of 179 x 108 x 68cm, and it stays that way all the time, since it is not a folding bike, which is a shame.

One aspect that undoubtedly draws attention is the hump in the central part of the frame, and as you can guess, it is the battery, which is removable, but we will talk about it at the end. Continuing with the design theme, it becomes obvious that this is a mountain bike suitable for traveling on unpaved roads, since it has what it takes to cushion the potholes and obstacles, so riding around the city will be a piece of cake.

It is worth mentioning the presence of a LCD screen with on-board computer, from which we can know the state of the battery, the distance traveled and the current mode, as well as it is possible to change between the 5 available speeds and turn off / on the engine.

Finally, it should be noted that there is a special edition called Nilox X6 National Geographic, which sports a yellow and black finish. This collaboration between Nilox and the National Geographic channel is the result of a project dedicated to sustainable mobility, which seeks to create a range of unique and ecological vehicles.

Performance and features

In this section we find a 250W Bafang brushless motor, which supports five speeds and provides a maximum of 25KM / h, so it complies with what the DGT dictates about this class of vehicles, so it should not be necessary to register it if you live in Spain or any country of the European Union.

That said, the engine isn’t the only important thing when it comes to getting smooth rides, we’ll also need a good suspension, drivetrain and braking system for that, and we’re happy to say the Nilox X6 has it all.

In this sense, the bike incorporates a Shimano 21 speed gearbox that makes it easy to travel all kinds of routes in the best possible way. Thanks to the Shimano Revoshift knob, we can change gears with little effort from the knob.

For its part, brakes courtesy of Tektro and they provide stopping power superior to the mechanical disc brakes typically found in this class of product.

And as with many bikes from this company, there are 5 levels of pedaling assistance to choose from, but nothing stops us from going completely electric or putting it in manual mode if we want to exercise.

Autonomy

The battery is a Samsung 36V / 11.6 Ah, which provides a autonomy of up to 80KM, but maybe we can get a little more out of it if we pedal more; Be that as it may, it is a more than respectable figure and there are no complaints in this regard. It takes 5 hours to recharge, but taking into account its duration it is not a negative aspect.

Battery with anti-theft protection

This battery has two very advantageous peculiarities. First of all, it is removable, so we can take it off the bike to load it comfortably inside our home or office. Second, it incorporates a anti-theft mechanism, which translates into a locking key that prevents someone from removing it without much effort.

Nilox X6 availability and price

After knowing all the aspects of the Nilox X6, we can establish that it is a premium option, which can be used as both a city bike and a mountain bike. Without a doubt, we must praise the excellent tires, the good design and long autonomy that it gives us, not to mention the battery with an anti-theft lock. On the other hand, we are not very fond of the fact that it is not foldable and that it does not come with smart functions to be a Premium product. The latter aside, it is an excellent eBike for almost any situation.
