Design and materials
The smartwatch of My book It shows you did your homework right at the design table. Once placed on our wrist, the watch feels comfortable to use even in sports activities. The fault of this is its construction with soft rounded shapes on its back. Thanks to this, the mobility of the wrist is ensured. Besides, his thickness is 9.8 mm and with a total weight of 48 g.
This body is made of aluminum, making it more resistant to wear and tear and offering a more premium look. Its sphere has a 43mm diameter, with barely visible frames thanks to the black color of the box. As we can see, it only includes an interaction button on the right side, to turn on the screen and access the menu. So most of the actions we will do by sliding our finger.
By turning the clock we check the optical heart sensor and the two magnetic charging pins. The package includes a small base that stays securely attached to the watch while we recharge it. The strap is made of silicone with a smooth finish. Also, it can be easily replaced. As for its measurements, with the strap attached it reaches 245 mm in length.
Although we are talking about the Lite version, this Mibro incorporates the IP68 certification. That is, it is resistant to water immersion of up to 1.5 m and dust. Therefore, do not be afraid to take it to the gym or any getaway to the mountain. However, it is not suitable for sports that involve jets of water under pressure, diving, water skiing, among others.
But without a doubt, one of the main claims is its AMOLED screen. Yes, there is no type of error. Despite having a low price, the Mibro Lite incorporates a remarkable 1.3 inch circular AMOLED panel. And what’s so special? Thanks to it, it is possible to view the screen under direct sunlight and with much more prominent colors. In addition, its consumption is much more efficient, so it allows you to have the “screen on” function, just like in smartphones.
AMOLED smartwatch settings and menu
The smartwatch uses the application called Mibro Fit. This free app is available at Android and iOS stores, requires the registration of some user data. The pairing is done by Bluetooth, very easy to do with a QR code on the watch. However, the app has a quite improvable translation into our language.
This application records and stores all the data captured by the watch, with a history to see our evolution. It has a good number of functions, remote notifications arrive without delays and allows the change of the dial with your own photographs.
First screen: sport modes, exercise data, heart rate, blood oxygen level.
Second screen: sleep monitor, blood pressure measurement, breathing training, MET.
Third screen: remote music control, timer, phone search by melody, message tray.
Fourth screen: stopwatch, calculator, weather forecast, Mibro Lite settings.
Telephone calls and SMS messaging. Unlike other smartwatches in the same price range, this Mibro Lite does not include the possibility of making BT calls from the watch itself. Therefore, we only receive remote notifications of calls from our smartphone. On the other hand, you can receive SMS messages but without being able to reply to them, as in other remote notifications.
Notifications and remote functions. From the aforementioned app we give access to the services of which we are really interested in receiving alerts. For example, with WhatsApp we see the text of the message but without showing emojis. These notifications are stored in a message tray for later reading. Remote functions include musical control of a smartphone app.
Sports. It includes a total of 15 sports activities with a sample of the data of interest captured by the watch. For example, we have walking, elliptical, riding a bike, soccer, basketball, among others. However, it does not include GPS, so we do not have a record of our trajectory on a map.
Health. Another aspect to highlight is the use of a continuous heart monitor for complete monitoring, while we are working or doing sports outdoors. Using its optical sensor, it also shows us the level of oxygen in the blood and the arterial pressure. But as we always say, these measurements are indicative and cannot be considered as a medical record. We have missed a menstrual cycle tracking feature.
Battery and autonomy
As we have already mentioned, the Mibro Lite is charged with a simple magnetic base connected by USB. The built-in battery 230 mAh and the low consumption of its AMOLED screen, makes its autonomy skyrocket up to 10 days of use. In our tests we have reached 7.5 days with periodic BT connections for remote notifications. However, these figures will depend on the use we make of the optical sensor, brightness level, etc.
Availability and price of the Mibro Lite
In general, it is a well balanced proposal in features and price. Its attractive AMOLED screen is the perfect icing on this appetizing cake. However, it would have been a delicacy if I had included GPS in the recipe. We award the Gizlogic Gold Award.
