JBL Quantum One, opinions and video of these headphones

Today we will focus on the analysis of the JBL Quantum One, a gaming headset that brings many new features. In this review we will discover what the brand has to offer JBL In one of the sectors that is giving more to talk about, communication and sound in online video games. We already know that this firm has a wide reputation in terms of sound, as we could already see in the analysis of the JBL Xtreme 3. Will you keep the bar in a completely different field? Well read on to find out.

An attractive and comfortable design

Clearly, the JBL Quantum One is an impressive headphone. They have a size that stands out, with measurements of 40 x 40 x 20 cm and a weight of 369 grams. This could be somewhat uncomfortable, since we are facing one of the heaviest headphones on the market, in fact, this version is much less light than past versions. However, the headband design, very tight and with comfortable padding, make this weight gain worthwhile considering everything they have inside.

The materials They are the typical ones in this type of apparatus and range, plastics and ear muffs padded with memory foam and covered with synthetic leather. But if there is something that we highlight is that the cables of the connections, which we will talk about later, are covered with synthetic cord. With this, what they achieve is that the cables are protected, and that their location is also much more comfortable. The buttons and connections are all on the left earphone, which is perfectly marked inside, as well as the right one with two large letters L (Left) and R (Rigth). In addition, this device has RGB LED lights that make the design change constantly, something that is also customizable on a computer.

Great advances in sound and communication

It should be noted that these headphones are designed for a specific use, in this case, that of communication in video games. The JBL Quantum One are perfect for gaming, and all the sound improvements with respect to past models are focused on this facet. That they are heard well is a no-brainer, as this brand has full control of this field with great results in all kinds of tones with 50mm neodymium amplifiers. In fact, it has the Hi-Res certification (High Resolution), which guarantees that the sound will be emitted with the same audio quality with which it was recorded. This is the great characteristic of JBL QuantumSOUND Signature, sound system used in this model.

But now we are going to focus on what are the additions that make these helmets really remarkable. First of all, the AMC noise cancellation system that allows us to avoid external sounds a bit. This is very important when playing games thanks to the immersive experience it provides, although it can be deactivated at any time if we wish with one of the buttons. The system also helps this immersive experience in the video game. JBL QuantumSPHERE 360TM. With the regulator that is included in the box and that is hooked through the microphone, we can measure the diameter and height of our head for a precise surround sound.

The detachable horn microphone is of a very high quality. External sound conditions hardly affect the audio we output and that is something we love. In addition, the system allows us to adjust the microphone at all times. This is another of the great advantages of the JBL Quantum One, which has a great capacity for customization, especially in terms of sound. In fact, the headphone equalizer allows you to create different profiles with their own characteristics through the QuantumENGINE application, although only on PC, but we will talk about this later.

Connectivity

As for the different connections that the headphones have with the computer or console to which they are connected, the analysis is simple. First of all, you have the option of USB type C, which is the type of connection that goes through a rotary volume control that is used to modify the different audio inputs separately. Also, it has the option of being connected through the double termination in 3.5mm jack, a very typical connection in this type of headphones although with worse results if our sound card is not up to the task. However, if this is of good quality, we should not notice a great difference, so the use of one or the other connection is not so relevant.

The microphone, of which we have already commented on its quality, is connected through another 3.5 mm Jack. All connectors have their connection holes well marked and separated so that each one occupies its space easily and comfortably. Before connecting the microphone, we can perform a test of it with the regulator that is included in the package. We miss the option of a wireless connection, but taking into account the quality of these wired connections and the great results they give in sound along with the rest of the components, we cannot complain either.

Wide compatibility with different platforms

The different connections that we have discussed in the previous section, make the compatibility of the JBL Quantum One very wide. It can connect to mobile phones, PlayStation (PS5 and PS4), Xbox (Series X, S and One) and Nintendo Switch. However, it should be noted that these headphones are designed for use on PC, through the USB connection. This is because the great addition in this part of the analysis is the QuantumENGINE, a personalization technology. With it we can change the microphone settings, the RGB, or modify the calibration of the aforementioned QuatumSPHERE. All this change in characteristics cannot be made on consoles or mobile phones, so customization is an exclusive point of use on computers.

JBL Quantum One availability and price

Undoubtedly, the JBL Quantum One are the ideal headphones for those who are dedicated to playing video games on a daily basis. All sound systems are designed to improve the gaming experience and that is something to keep in mind. Their price is somewhat high, but the truth is that they have a lot to offer and the experience with them has been very rewarding. We do not recommend its acquisition if the use is going to be casual, or if you play video games for pure leisure and the sound is not relevant in your games. They miss small details, or some something bigger like the lack of wireless connection, but still the score is very high and takes the GizAward Gold on their own merits in each and every field.
