iPad Pro 2022, Apple introduces the new iPad with M2 chip

The American apple has announced the arrival of the new iPad Pro powered by the M2 chipwhich is poised as a high-end tablet for 2022, bringing to the table spectacular performance and the most advanced features, including Apple Pencil’s floating pointer, 5G connectivity (in the cellular version) and ProRes video capture, that not to mention everything iPadOS 16 has to offer.

First of all, this year’s iPad Pro comes in two size versions, one of 11 inches and another 12.9 inches. In the case of the first, it is a Liquid Retina IPS panel with a resolution of 2,388 x 1,668 pixels and a brightness of 600 nits. In the case of the second, we are dealing with a miniLED “Liquid Retina XDR” panel with a resolution of 2,732 x 2,048 pixels and a brightness of 1,000 nits.

Both screens outline a 120Hz refresh rate and support for the Second generation Apple Pencil, which now has a preview mode that is activated 12mm above the screen, which they have named as a floating pointer. As if that were not enough, its precision has been improved and now the text fields expand automatically just by bringing the pen closer to the screen.

With that said, the nerve center of the new iPad becomes the revolutionary chip apple m2, which incorporates an 8-core CPU accompanied by a 10-core GPU. In addition, the 16-core Neural Engine complements the set and is responsible for handling tasks related to AI and machine learning.

In terms of memory, we will find it in configurations with 8GB or 16GB of RAM, which in turn can be accompanied by 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and up to 2TB of internal storage.

As is customary with Apple, we do not have specific battery data, but the company promises up to 10 hours of battery life with continuous video streaming.

In the field of connectivity, it is important to note that we can get the iPad Pro in two versions: Wi-Fi and Cellular. This last option supports 5G mobile connection (sub‑6 GHz and mmWave4) in addition to the Wi-Fi 6E standard present in both.

In photographic terms, it has a 12MP main camera + 10MP wide angle. Meanwhile, on the front it flaunts a 12MP TrueDepth camera. Naturally, it supports FaceID and other photo tricks like TrueTone Flash.

Availability and price

The new iPad Pro can book from October 18 in apple.com and in the Apple Store app in 28 countries and regions, including Spain, and will be available in stores starting Wednesday, October 26. Prices start from 1,049 euros for the 11-inch version (Wi-Fi) and from 1,449 euros for the 12.9-inch version (Wi-Fi).
