As you can guess, the Pixel 6a is the most affordable model of the Pixel 6 family that we met in the fall of last year, which boasts an exceptional camera along with a reasonable price tag.
Going into details, the Pixel 6a handles an aesthetic similar to the standard model of its series, something that was expected, but we can differentiate them by the size of the screen, since the 6a measures 6.1 inches . It is still an AMOLED panel , but the resolution is FHD + and the refresh rate is only 60Hz instead of the 90hz of the original model. In terms of hardware, it proudly sports the chip developed by its parent company, the Google Tensor, which is accompanied by a Titan M2 coprocessor . This set is supported by 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage . The battery remains at 4,410mAh, which represents a decrease compared to the Pixel 5a. The consolation is that it also supports 18W fast charging.
The photographic section is always one of the biggest selling points of its series, and the current proposal is a 12MP main sensor accompanied by a 12MP ultra wide angle . It may lack the resolution of the standard model (50MP), but it has all the same benefits and features; such as Night Sight mode, Portait Light and astrophotography. For its part, the selfie camera remains at 8MP.
Android 12 awaits us as an operating system , but it will surely be updated with Android 13 when it is ready this year. In terms of connectivity, it supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS and NFC.
Availability and price
Without giving an exact arrival date, Google confirmed that the Pixel 6a will be available in Spain in the summer for a price of 459 euros. It is already in the Google store in case you are interested in being notified when it is on sale.
