The Google Pixel 7 is the current flagship of Google, a high-end smartphone that stands out, among many things, for its photographic capabilities. However, even flagships are prone to quality issues or manufacturing defects, and it seems that this is the case for the pixel 7; as multiple users have reported in recent days that the glass of the rear camera has been broken without any type of external intervention, something that they attribute to a manufacturing or design defect. Similarly, this applies to the Google Pixel 7 Pro.
At the moment there are not so many reports to believe that it is something on a large scale, but equally there are enough cases to know that it is not an isolated case. Also, Google’s Pixel 7 series has only been on the market for a few months, so it’s entirely possible that more units will experience this issue in the future.
In this sense, one of the first users of the Pixel 7 to cry out to heaven was @CSTrowaway on Twitter; who complained that the glass of his mobile phone camera broke after only a month of normal use and without falls or blows that could have caused this damage.
Not even a month, no drops just regular use. Have a case on the phone. Been told Its my problem. Is this really the quality control backed by google? It’s clearly a manufacturing defect, and I know I’m not the only one. Please fix this google! @madebygoogle #pixel7brokencamera pic.twitter.com/pH6k7HxSux

Naturally, there was more than one in the answers assuring that the same thing had happened to them, even providing photographic evidence of it. For some, the problem occurred as early as the first week of use and, again, without outside intervention, or so they claim.
As if that were not enough, the first reports date from October 2022, as can be seen in this reddit post.
Google has gotten down to work with the defective Google Pixel 7
At the time of publishing this note, Google has not issued any official statement on the situation, but as can be seen in the Twitter thread, at least the technical service has been in direct contact with those affected. In fact, there are already users who are fortunate that Google has accessed replace your phones and honor the warrantywhich shows that it is a real problem that the company’s offices are aware of.
