Motorola is ready to introduce the Motorola S Edge this January 26, the date on which the chip will also debut Snapdragon 870. And a few days after the announcement, real images of the device appeared on Chinese social networks that reveal the appearance of it. Additionally, an official AnTuTu test gives us an idea of what to expect from Qualcomm’s new SoC in terms of performance.
We practically already know the terminal in its entirety without it having stepped on the market yet.
The Motorola S Edge no longer keeps many secrets
We will start with its design, which presents a square camera cutout with four modules headed by a 64MP main camera. The leaked images also give a first look at what the rear of the Motorola Edge S will look like. Apparently, the color displays for this device will be white / silver and blue.
Regarding the screen, we would be talking about a 6.7 inch panel with resolution FullHD+ and a very, very unusual refresh rate of 105Hz that makes us wonder. Either way, the panel houses two holes for the front cameras, whose resolution will be 16MP and 8MP.
For its part, the rear camera will have 64MP + 16MP + 2MP + 2MP sensors, which we assume will be main, super wide angle, macro and depth, respectively.
Moving on to the hardware realm, the Snapdragon 870 Chip would be the star here, the deserved renovation of the Snapdragon 865. In this sense, benchmark from AnTuTu yields a respectable combined score of 679,860 points.
A quick comparison to the leaderboard AnTuTu December, reveals that the Motorola Edge S easily outperforms phones based on the Snapdragon 865, such as the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra and iQOO 5.
Finally, the terminal would be powered by a 5,000mAh battery and accompanied by 8GB / 12GB of RAM along with 128GB or 256GB internal storage.
